Hand-painted clothespins and a few silky sunflowers are all you need to make this beautiful blooming Sunflower Clothespin Pawprint Wreath. In just a few simple steps, you’ll have a bright and cheery doggie decoration for the front door.

You’ll need…

And click here to download our free printable to make the pawdorable plaid decoration that’s featured in the center of the wreath.

Step 1

Paint 30 of your wooden clothespins yellow. The other 30 pins will be painted three colors. Start by painting the top half of each clothespin yellow. Then paint the lower half brown with the tips painted black.

Step 2

Cut a circle from the black foam that’s a little bit bigger than the size of the inner wreath form (roughly 10 inches).

Step 3

Print and cut out your favorite pawprint from the free printable. Glue it onto the center of the foam circle.

Step 4

Once the colorful clothespins are dry, it’s time to attach them to the wire frame. Clip the tri-colored pins to the inner two wire rings of the frame and use them to attach the black foam circle to the wreath frame. The solid yellow pins are clipped to the middle two rings, as shown here. Continue attaching pins around the entire frame, alternating solid yellow and colored pins as you go.

Step 5

Glue three sunflowers for an embellishment on your wreath. Then use a ribbon, jute twine or a twist tie to make a hanger at the top of the wreath.

Did you ever think you could make something so sunny and sweet? The clothespins give it such a rustic charm and they’re so easy to work with. Consider customizing this with your own unique touches. Maybe add a yellow dog toy to the silk flowers! It’s the perfect chance to get creative and have fun. No matter what you choose, it’s super easy to make this craft into something gorgeous for your front door.
