DIY Frozen Fruity Patriotic Pupsicles

Today we’re gonna stir up some star-spangled frozen fun…CRONCH  CRONCH CRONCH 🍡😋…with a big batch of these two-ingredient fruit and yogurt frozen doggie treats. They’re the perfect remedy to help keep our pups cool on those hot Summer days!

And these DIY Frozen Fruity Patriotic Pupsicles couldn’t be easier to make… so you can quickly whip up a batch for your four-legged friends for Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, or your next backyard BBQ.

You’ll need…

Silicone ice cube trays or candy molds – We found some adorable paw print-shaped and star-shaped ones that were ideal for this occasion!

Immersion blender, blender or food processor

Ingredients:

1 Cup Water

Strawberries (about 6)

Blueberries (about a ⅓ Cup)

Plain yogurt (about 5 oz.)

Time Required:

15 minutes + 2 hours freeze time

Servings:

20 yummy treats

This recipe calls for plain, unsweetened yogurt. All natural, vanilla yogurt is ok and shouldn’t bother your dog, but plain or Greek yogurt is a far better option, since vanilla yogurt will have sweeteners. Regardless of which you choose, please make sure the yogurt DOES NOT CONTAIN the artificial sweetener XYLITOL. It’s extremely toxic to dogs!!

Note: Strawberries, blueberries and yogurt are safe for dogs to eat. If you have any concerns about what you’re feeding your dogs or questions regarding possible allergic reactions, please call your vet.

Instructions:
Step 1

Stir the yogurt in its container to soften it a bit and then place a small dollop into each space in your mold or ice cube tray. Set the tray aside.

Step 2

Rinse the strawberries and cut off their stems. Rinse blueberries and set them aside.

Step 3

Place about 6 strawberries and ½ cup of water in the blender and puree until smooth. Repeat with the blueberries. (½ cup of water and ⅓ cup of blueberries)

Step 4

Pour strawberry and water puree over the yogurt to fill the ice cube trays. Do the same with the blueberry mixture.

Step 5

Freeze for 3-4 hours or overnight. Once solid, remove the frozen treats from the tray and store in an air-tight container in the freezer.

How sweet are these?!! So colorful, quick and tasty…and the perfect way to cool your furry friend down on the fourth of July or any sunny day when the temps begin to rise.

Important Tip! These frozen pupsicles are best served outdoors…and just a few at a time (to avoid the dreaded brain freeze…haha!). When sharing them indoors, be sure to supervise your pup. if your dog wanders off and drops one on the floor, the frozen berry treats will melt and stain your carpet!
