DIY No Bake Fang-tastic Pumpkin Dog Treats

It’s that scary cute time of year… soon the little neighbor ghosts and goblins will be knockin’ on the door toting bags full of candy. And with all of the human sweets our pups can’t eat, we decided to make a flavorful holiday treat they can enjoy to celebrate Halloween.

That means it’s time for some fang-tastic fun! So let’s grab a few ingredients you likely already have in the kitchen and whip up these DIY No Bake Fang-tastic Pumpkin Dog Treats.

These ghoulish goodies are sure to please! As an added bonus, they’re chock full of pumpkin, which is a great source of fiber that helps with proper digestion and regularity.

You’ll need…

Ingredients:

1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling, which contains ingredients that may be harmful to your dog)

1/4 cup peanut butter (xylitol-free)

1/4 cup milk

2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats

Parchment paper

Optional: Silicone ice cube trays or candy molds – We found some adorable pumpkin-shaped or paw print-shaped ones that were ideal for this occasion!

Time Required:

15 minutes + 2 hours fridge time

Servings:

20 yummy treats

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, peanut butter and milk until well combined.

Step 2

Gradually add the old fashioned oats a bit at a time and mix just until incorporated.

Step 3

Using a spoon or small scoop, roll the mixture into balls about 1 inch in size and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. At this point you can use a silicone mold or take a fork press the balls and pinch the top into a pumpkin shape.

Step 4

Place the baking sheet in the fridge to let the balls harden (about 2 hours). You can store treats in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1 week or place in the freezer for up to 3 months.
What tricks would your dog do for these treats?

At the end of the day, nothing beats homemade! So yummy, quick and tasty…and an easy way to dish out healthy, no bake nutritional dog treats made with love this howl-oween!
