This week, we’re giving a gorgeous velvet poinsettia placemat from Hobby Lobby a very merry makeover, transforming it into a Ralph Lauren inspired Christmas wreath with classic holiday style.
A little gold, a beautiful tartan plaid bow and a few super-simple touches are all it takes to give this simple Christmas DIY that polished, timeless look everyone is loving this year. The end result is stunning, rich and oh-so-festive!
You’ll need…
- Cut a strip of thin gold ribbon that’s about 6 inches long. Turn the placemat over and glue the ribbon to the back for a hanger.
- With the front of the placemat facing you, select a variety of gold ball ornaments. Glue a small cluster of them (roughly 5-7 or so) onto the center of the poinsettia.
- Make a large bow from the plaid ribbon and adhere it to the bottom of the placemat. Find a spot in your home that needs a little rustic elegance, hang and enjoy!
Best of all, this poinsettia wreath is ridiculously easy to make. A few simple embellishments deliver loads of traditional Christmas charm! This just proves you don’t need a complicated project to make your holiday decor look fabulous!
