Peanut Butter & Jelly Frozen Dog Treats

Ready for the best snack to keep you pups cool all summer long? Frozen PB&J Dog Treats!

It’s such a simple idea for a summertime snack for dogs – but honestly, the ripe red strawberries sandwiched between two creamy layers of peanut butter makes these tasty bites so darn cute. Best of all, these peanut butter and jelly frozen dog treats are healthy, delicious, and your dog will go crazy over them.

You’ll need…

Silicone ice cube trays or candy molds – We found some adorable paw print-shaped ones that were ideal for this recipe!

Immersion blender, blender or food processor

Ingredients:

1/4 cup and 2 Tablespoons of peanut butter (xylitol free)

3 Tablespoons of coconut oil (type that solidifies at room temp)

4-5 strawberries

1 T coconut milk

Servings:

10 yummy treats

Note: Peanut butter, strawberries and coconut milk are safe for dogs to eat. If you have any concerns about what you’re feeding your dogs or questions regarding possible allergic reactions, please contact your vet.

Step 1

Melt 3 tablespoons of peanut butter and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in the microwave 20 seconds at a time until pourable. Mix together. Pour a small layer of peanut butter mixture into silicone mold. Place in freezer and allow to harden, about 30 minutes. Tip put the silicone mold on a half baking sheet to provide a flat surface in the freezer.

Step 2

Chop up 4-5 strawberries. Using food processor or blender combine strawberries, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of coconut milk.

Step 3

Pour the strawberry layer over the peanut butter layer. Leave enough space for one more layer of peanut butter. Place back in freezer and allow to harden 30 minutes.

Step 4

Melt 3 tablespoons of peanut butter and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in the microwave 20 seconds at a time until pourable. Mix together. Pour the last layer of peanut butter mixture over the strawberry layer. Place in freezer and allow to harden, about 2 hours.

Childhood is filled with the soft yummy goodness of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. So if your dogs are the littles in your family, why not give them the same nutty, buttery joy you had as kids!

Important Tip! These frozen treats are best served outdoors…and just a few at a time (to avoid the dreaded brain freeze…haha!). When sharing them indoors, be sure to supervise your pup. if your dog wanders off and drops one on the floor, the frozen berry can melt and stain your carpet!
