13 Sep DIY Fall Hand-stamped Pawprint Placemats

This time of year there are many occasions to decorate your dinner table, so why not add a little dog-theme to the decor?! Whether you’re hosting a little get-together or throwing a Thanksgiving holiday do, there are plenty of reasons to spruce up your tabletop design. 

The fun part about this DIY is that you get to be creative and take something Plain Jane and make it your own! With just a few dollars in supplies you can make your own Fall Hand-stamped Pawprint Placemats or centerpiece to fancy up even a family dinner of mac and cheese.

Ok, now to wow your guests with something that’s pawsitively perfect…

You’ll need…

Step 1

Consider options for your design by laying out your stamps on the placemat in your desired pattern or sketch it out on a piece of paper.  You can create any design you want, but it’s probably best to keep it simple.

Step 2

Apply a thin layer of acrylic paint to each stamp and then press it firmly onto your placemat. Let dry. Don’t worry if the stamp marks aren’t perfect… it’ll give your placemat a rustic, handmade look.

Step 3

If you stop right there, you’ve got a colorful canine-inspired centerpiece, or you can keep going and make a set of placemats for each table guest to enjoy. When ready, top off your centerpiece with fruits or flowers or set your table with festive dinnerware.

So easy, so fun. And with all sorts of stamps to pick from…including large and small pawprints, pumpkins, leaves, all sorts of fall goodness…you can be as creative as you want!  You could also stamp the reverse side so that you have two different designs to decorate with. So gather your supplies and give this hand-stamped placemat craft a try!
