The beauty of springtime Easter decor can be found in the simplest things – colorful cotton fabrics and trims. Today’s craft is super easy to make and has a bit of a traditional country flair using denim, lace and doggies – but you can vary it up however you want!

Best of all, there’s no need to break out the sewing machine for this No Sew Mutts & Eggs Centerpiece.

You’ll need…

½ yard of denim fabric
3 fat quarters of cotton fabrics in Spring colors
1 fat quarter of dog-themed cotton fabric
Assorted lace, tassels, rick rack and fringe trims

Hot glue gun and sticks
Scissors
Pinking shears

Step 1

Using regular scissors, cut 5 large egg shapes out of denim fabric that are roughly 15 inches tall x 11 inches wide. These will be the base of your egg design.

Step 2

Then, use your pinking shears to cut 5 smaller egg shapes from various spring cotton prints that are roughly 13.5 inches tall x 9.5 inches wide. In our example, we’ve cut out 3 eggs using pastel fabrics and 2 eggs from a cute garden doggie print we found at Walmart.

Step 3

Adhere each of the smaller fabric eggs onto one of the larger denim ones with hot glue.

Step 4

Glue trim around the smaller fabric eggs to hide the zig-zag edge and give it a nice finish.

Step 5

Once everything has dried, arrange your eggs in whatever pattern you prefer in the center of your table – overlapping edges, alternating directions, forming a circle, etc. and top with a simple bouquet or bowl of fruit. Or change things up and use the eggs as placemats under your favorite dinnerware!
