Stars and Stripes Giant Bow

Okay… this week’s craft is just plain fun 😄

We started with one of those giant red, white, and blue bows from Dollar Tree and gave it a full patriotic makeover with striped ribbon tails, jingling silver bells, and a vintage-style “God Bless America” sign right in the center. The result feels festive, cheerful, and just a little unexpected (in the best way!).

Hang it on the front door, a porch hook, or even indoors as part of your summer décor. It’s a fun way to celebrate the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and America’s 250th birthday on a budget.

You’ll need…

  1.  Cut the red and white striped ribbon so that it’s a bit longer than twice the length of the bow’s tails. Fold the ribbon in half and glue the fold onto the middle of the giant bow. Then adhere the new ribbon down the length of the tails following the inside edge. Trim any excess ribbon.
  2. Swap out the jute twine hanger for a festive ribbon on the metal bottle cap and then glue the cap onto the center of the giant bow.
  3. Replace the two foam stars that are dangling from the thin white ribbon with silver bells… and you’re done!

Once it’s hanging up, this little project brings such a fun Americana feel to your space. The ribbons flutter, the bells softly chime, and suddenly everything feels a little more festive for summer.
