DIY Cheesecloth Ghost Dog

Time to make a sweet lil’ boo for howl-o-ween! Cheesecloth ghosts are super popular right now, so we thought it’d be fun to do our own doggie twist on the idea. Really, these are so cute we could scream! 🎃 And they’re so simple to make – even with a little felt jack-o-lantern for a festive touch. Thanks to @theblendednest for the inspo for our Cheesecloth Dog Ghost DIY!

You’ll need…

  1. Add glue to a little water so it’s runny. (You can also use thinned coffee for an antiqued look.)
  2. Cut two large pieces of cheese cloth (open them completely) and place them in the mixture.
  3. Shape a head out of foil and place on top of an upside-down cup. Add a few balls of foil to the base of the cup for the dog’s rear end.
  4. Wring out the cheesecloth, open it up, and layer it over the mold. Be sure the cup and foil are completely covered.
  5. While your dog ghost is drying, cut out a nose, ears and eyes from black felt. Glue these to the pup’s face.
  6. Make a little jack-o-lantern from black, orange and white felt.
  7. Cut a small piece of jute twine and attach one end to the pumpkin.
  8. Cut two small holes in the cheesecloth under the dog’s nose.
  9. Thread the jute through the holes and glue the other end of jute to the pumpkin so it hangs from the dog’s mouth.

That’s all there is to it! In no time at all, you can make a creation Count Barkcula would love!
