Ok, so we’re taking the basic game of frisbee with your dog to a whole ‘nother place – by creating a fringebee! What the heckums is that? Well, a fringebee is a lightweight and flexible flyer with soft fleecey fringe. It’s soooo simple to make – and super fun to play with too!

This versatile DIY dog disc can be tossed in the air or used to play tug of war. And the biggest bonus is that it’s soft and easy on the mouth, so your pup will happily play fetch and burn off some of that crazy energy.

You’ll need…

Flexible flyer dog frisbee (7, 10 or 12 inch)

¼ yard of fleece

A sharp pair of scissors

Step 1

Cut out the fabric center of the frisbee flyer, cutting closely along the inner stitches as you go. When finished, you should have a fabric covered flexible ring with a large hole in the center.

Step 2

Cut a bunch of fleece strips about 5-6 inches long and 1 inch wide. (For the smaller 7 inch flyer, you’ll need about 48 strips.)

Step 3

Tie a fleece strip to the fabric-covered ring with the knot facing the outer edge. Pull the knot tight to secure it. Continue tying fleece strips around the ring until it’s covered. For a fun effect, you can alternate colors as you work your way around the ring.

Step 4

Trim any long ends and then fluff up the fleecey fringe.

A quick toss in the air and your dog will go after their new fingebee with gusto. Great for use inside or out!

Remember to supervise your pup’s play closely when using this dog toy. Dogs left alone with it could chew bits of the fleece strips off and possibly swallow them…which could be quite harmful.

For cleaning, hand wash with soap and water. Fluff up the fleece and let it air dry.
