DIY Denim Doggie Rag Wreath

There’s something about sunflowers, denim and dogs that makes ya think of the easy breezy days of Summer and weekend walks with your bouncy pups. That’s exactly the inspiration behind today’s project.

And if you’re looking to repurpose those old jeans or denim shirts that are tucked in the back of your closet, you’ve come to the right place. So dig them outta their hiding place, and let’s get crafty!

You’ll need…

Step 1

Cut your denim fabric into 1.5 inch wide strips that are about 7-8 inches long.

Step 2

Tie the strips to the wire frame, one by one, until the entire wreath is filled in – nice and fluffy.

Step 3

Glue three sunflowers for an embellishment on your wreath.

Step 4

Then, cut several 9 inch strips of the paw print ribbon. Make a loop with 2/3rds of the ribbon and fold the remaining third back up, so that it’s pointing upward beyond the loop. (It should look like half a bow.) Put glue on the base of the loop and tuck several of them in and around the flowers.

Step 5

Use the ribbon to make a hanger at the top of the wreath.

Denim rags to rustic riches…what a fun way to bring the farmhouse to your front door! The flowers are so cheery and we just love the dog-themed ribbon accents that make this wreath so pawfect!

Thank you so much for these easy to follow instructions. I’ve been saving my old jeans for several years figuring I could make something with the fabric. It’s approaching Christmas 2023 and I’ve been watching a lot of rag wreath videos. Your YT video and these written instructions are so clear and easy to follow I think I’ll be making a lot of wreaths. Christmas fabric wreath first then a jeans wreath where I can change out the decorations for each season/special holiday.
