Candy Corn Burlap Trees

Ok who’s got a Halloween sweet tooth? If you crave that sugary goodness this time of year like we do, you’re going to love these Candy Corn Burlap Trees! This colorfully striped DIY is so fun and inexpensive, even people who “don’t do” candy corn will have a hard time resisting their quirky charm. The trees go together really quickly – mostly ‘cuz the burlap is super easy to work with. But watch out…you’ll likely end up making an entire forest in honor of your little sweetie pie!

You’ll need…

  1. Cut out a 9″x12″ piece of muslin.
  2. Cut 12″ strips of white, orange and yellow burlap ribbon.
  3. Glue each ribbon onto the muslin backing.
  4. Fold muslin in half and cut out a candy corn shape.
  5. Glue inner edges of muslin together (top and sides) to create a pocket.
  6. Fill pocket with stuffing.
  7. Insert dowel rod.
  8. Glue across the bottom of muslin to close the pocket.
  9. Adhere a bow at the base of the candy corn.
  10. Drill hole into wood slice.
  11. Insert dowel rod into wood slice so that it stands.

What fun! These rustic beauties can be used in a holiday centerpiece, vignette, or staggered across a mantel for a seasonal touch. They are also perfect for a Halloween party, so if you’re hosting one this year, be sure to pick up some burlap to make these funky festive trees.
