It’s an egg-citing time for dogs around here ‘cuz we’ve got a fun and festive dog treat recipe for Easter!
We’ve combined the best flavors to create a carrot cake recipe for pups that is utterly delicious. It’s so simple, moist, and flavorful – your pup won’t even miss the cream cheese frosting!
Not only are these springtime dog treats a breeze to whip up, but they’re also packed with wholesome goodness your dog will love. 😋
Let’s hop right in…
You’ll need…
- 1/2 cup shredded carrot
- 1/2 cup steel cut oats
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup applesauce (xylitol free)
- 2 tbsp. dried unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 tbsp. coconut oil
- 1 tbsp. honey
- Non-stick baking sheet
Time Required: 15 minutes prep. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350°F.
Servings: 20 yummy treats
- Shred ½ cup of carrot and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, add oats, flour and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
- Add carrot, applesauce, coconut flakes, coconut oil and honey to the bowl. Mix well.
- Roll into small balls and place onto a non-stick baking sheet.
- Press each ball to flatten into cookie shapes.
- Bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom.
Allow to cool, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or place in the freezer for up to 3 months.
