13 Sep Dollar Tree DIY Wireframe Sweater Pumpkin
If you’ve been to your local Dollar Tree lately, you’ll notice the familiar wireframe pumpkin wreath form is displayed among all of the wonderful Fall goodies again this year. This simple wreath form holds a world of decorating possibilities – it’s so versatile!
We adore the look of a cozy cable knit sweater, which pairs beautifully with this pumpkin wreath shape from Dollar Tree. Simply dig through your closet to find an old sweater, flannel shirt, or cute fuzzy scarf. Then search your craft stash to find a few of your favorite Fall embellishments (and festive doggie ribbon!) and you can easily create a custom piece that fits paw-fectly in your home this harvest season.
You’ll need…
- 2 pumpkin shaped wreath forms
- Old sweater
- Scrap of black felt
- Scrap of brown burlap ribbon
- Assortment of fall flowers
- 2.5 inch wide dog ribbon
- Jute twine
- Fabric glue
- Hot glue gun and sticks
- Scissors
- Floral wire or twist ties
- Cut a piece of sweater or fabric large enough to span the wreath form.
- Sandwich the fabric between the two wreath forms, pulling on all sides to stretch the fabric evenly. Flip wreath form over and glue loose ends down to secure the fabric in place.
- Cut a 4×4 inch piece of black felt, wrap it around the two pumpkin stems and glue the ends down on the back side.
- Cut a similarly sized piece of brown burlap and wrap it around the felt stem.
- Cut three lengths of dog ribbon that are roughly 16 inches in size. Glue them to the pumpkin vertically in alternating sections, tucking the ends under the top wire frame.
- Use a few small pieces of floral wire or hot glue to adhere the two wire pumpkin forms together into one shape.
- Glue your favorite fall leaves and flowers to the base of the stem and top it off with a big bow.
- Attach a hanger at the top using twine, hang and enjoy!
