09 Aug DIY Watermelon Placemat Bouquet
Ready for a quick and easy craft that’ll wow your party guests this summer?
This DIY Watermelon Placemat Bouquet is the perfect DIY decor for any sunny get-together you host for your dog-lovin’ friends and family! Great to hang on your door to welcome guests or use as a festive table centerpiece. Definitely a refreshing splash of summer wherever you place it! 🍉
All you need is a watermelon placemat from Hobby Lobby and then take a quick trip to Dollar Tree for some wood beads, floral foam and a handful of silk flowers. Add a sprinkling of doggie ribbon into the mix, and you’ve got yourself a nice summer look for the porch, patio or picnic table – and a fun way to celebrate our furry best friends!
You’ll need…
- Glue a small piece of floral foam (roughly 4 x 2 inches) in the center of your placemat.
- String 10-12 wood beads onto some jute twine and glue to one edge of the placemat for a hanger.
- Fold the placemat in half toward the hanger and glue the ends together near the top. (You should now have something that looks like a watermelon purse shape.)
- Poke a mix of red, pink and white flowers into the floral foam, creating a bouquet in each opening.
- Tuck a few “tails” or bows of doggie ribbon into the flowers. Hang and enjoy!
It turns out so pretty! This would be perfect for a watermelon-themed party, like a summer birthday party, baby shower or bridal shower, too. Such a delightful way to add a little handmade sweetness that can help you celebrate life’s special moments!
