09 Sep DIY Woven Sunflower Wreath
Oh my gosh, Hobby Lobby has some of the cutest things for Fall already on display. Wandering through the isles this week we came across the most gorgeous woven sunflower placemats – they even have petals around the outer edge that makes them so unique! So we thought they’d be the paw-fect start to creating a bright and cheery refresh to your front door decor.
This DIY is an easy-peasy, inexpensive project that fits so well between Summer and Fall. The end result is a stunning boho natural wreath in honor of your precious pup and a great way to continue celebrating sunny days ahead!
You’ll need…
- Woven sunflower placemat
- 2 faux sunflowers
- 3 inch wood paw prints
- Scrap of yellow plaid fabric
- Assortment of fall flowers
- 2.5 inch yellow ribbon
- Jute twine
- Fabric glue
- Hot glue gun and sticks
- Scissors
- Trace the paw print shape onto the plaid fabric twice and cut the shapes out. Then, glue the fabric to the back of the paw prints, making sure the fabric is stretched out nice and tight.
- Adhere a paw print to the middle of each sunflower so the yellow petals surround the wooden edge and glue each flower down onto one side of the placemat.
- Tuck a few fall leaves and flowers in and around the sunflowers to create a small bouquet.
- Attach a hanger at the top using twine and finish the look with a nice large bow at the bottom.
Don’t you just love how the shape of the placemat adds to the sunny theme of this wreath?! So playful, so colorful, so fun… just like our furry best friends!
