18 Dec Paper Straws Christmas Bouquet

This week’s Dollar Tree DIY is giving us all the nostalgic holiday feels! 

We’re transforming a simple wooden ornament wall hanging into a dreamy retro bouquet using pink Santa paper straws, sparkly metallic ribbons, and soft dried flowers in pinks, creams, and greens. 

The finished piece looks like it stepped right out of a vintage Christmas postcard…something so sweet, whimsical, and perfectly on-trend for this year’s pastel holiday aesthetic.

You’ll need…

• 10 inch wood ornament cutout or sign
• White acrylic paint & brush
• 50 retro holiday-themed paper straws
• Mix of dried flowers in pinks, whites and greens
• Silver paint pen
• 2 inch green ribbon
• 1 inch silver metallic ribbon
• ¼ inch silver metallic ribbon
• Hot glue gun and sticks
• Scissors
• Craft utility knife, ruler and pencil (optional)

1. Remove any hanger on your wood ornament, as needed.
2. Give the front of the wall hanging a coat of white paint. Let dry.
3. Paint the square shape at the top of the ornament in silver. Let dry.
4. Using a ruler and pencil, draw a line across the width of your ornament where you want the height of your straws to be.
5. Hot glue the straws vertically. Starting from the middle and working your way out to both sides. Be sure the ends of the straws line up nicely with the line you drew as you glue them down.
6. Once the glue has set, flip the wall hanging over and trim off the excess overlapping straws with scissors or a utility knife leaving just the ornament shape.
7. Cut a piece of 2 inch wide green ribbon and glue it across the front of the wall hanging. Do the same with a smaller silver ribbon and glue it on top of the green ribbon. Make a small bow with the silver ribbon and glue it to the front of your ornament.
8. Tuck several small dried flowers into various straws to create a colorful bouquet. Glue stems in place, as needed.
9. Tie a small piece of silver ribbon to the top for a hanger.
10. Hang it in a favorite spot and enjoy!

The result is a stunning Christmas bouquet wall hanging that feels timeless, feminine, and beautifully unique. It’s fun, unexpected, and a perfect reminder that holiday crafting doesn’t always need glitter and garland. Sometimes a handful of paper straws and pretty florals can create the biggest magic.
