13 Mar Lucky Pup Shamrock Treats

Time to make some yummies for St. Patrick’s Day! And you’re in luck, ‘cuz these dog biscuits are sham-rocking! 🍀

Today, we’re making a batch of healthy, homemade Lucky Pup Shamrock Treats filled with the flavors dogs love and a satisfying crunch that is great for their teeth. This is a fun recipe for the kids to get involved with too.

You’ll need…

Ingredients:

1 egg

1/4 cup of water

2oz cream cheese, well-softened

½ cup of frozen chopped spinach 

2 tablespoons coconut oil

Approximately 1 ½ cups of flour (plus extra for rolling)

Time Required: 

20 minutes prep. Bake for 10-15 minutes at 350°F.

Servings: 

20 yummy treats

Step 1

Using a food processor, blend the spinach, water, coconut oil and cream cheese until everything is mixed. Try not to over-blend. You should see small flecks of spinach throughout. Pour into a large bowl and add in the egg and stir together.

Step 2

Now start adding flour a little bit at a time to thicken the dough. Once it’s the right consistency, it’ll need to be chilled before rolling it out. Place the dough in the fridge for an hour or so (or about 15 minutes in the freezer).

Step 3

Dust your workspace with flour and turn your mixed dough out. Roll dough until it’s about 1/4″ thick. Cut with cookie cutters or simply cut into small squares and place onto a non-stick baking sheet.

Step 4

Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned on the bottom. You can store treats in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1-2 weeks or place in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Once they cool, you can share your finished treats with your favorite furry friends! Oh, and be sure you always have a generous stash on hand when you go on walks or when you’re out and about town. Your pup will be delighted and yappier than ever! 🤗
