Wood Scroll Valentine’s Heart

If your home feels a bit empty now that the holiday decorations are packed away, this week’s DIY is just what you need. It’s a fun, feel-good project that adds warmth and personality without a lot of fuss.

Whatever your experience level of crafting, you’ll love this project for its easy layers and pretty details! Wood, felt, and elegant heart-shaped scrollwork finds from Hobby Lobby come together to create Valentine’s Day wall décor that’s warm and rustic, with just enough feminine detail to make it feel really special.

Finish it with a few soft red florals and it’s one of those simple projects that ends up looking amazing wherever it’s displayed!

You’ll need…

  1. Paint the front of the heart pallet sign with a thin coat of brown paint. If you’d like, you can rub off the excess paint with a damp cloth to give the sign more of a stained look. Let this dry.
  2. Paint the front of the wood heart shape (that has the fancy cutouts or scrollwork) using white paint. Then let it dry.
  3. Glue the large felt heart onto the top of the brown heart pallet.
  4. Then adhere the white heart on top of the felt one.
  5. Make a row of the small red roses across the middle of the white heart and glue them in place. That’s all there is to it!

Hang it on the front door as a fresh alternative to a wreath, or display it inside to add a little handmade Valentine charm to your favorite room. It’s a sweet reminder that even simple, seasonal touches can bring comfort and joy during the quieter moments of winter.
