01 Sep Dollar Tree DIY Nautical Rope Pumpkins
Even though summer has been one of the best we’ve ever had, we’re ready to trade in the heat for cooler, crisper days ahead. This means pumpkin season is here…yay!
So this week, we’re making Nautical Rope Pumpkins with Dollar Tree finds! This project is so simple and fun! And ANYONE can do it! For this DIY, you’ll need some nautical cotton rope from Dollar Tree, a twig, and a fun doggie ribbon.
You’ll need…
- 1/2 inch cotton rope (28 feet long)
- Small stick from your yard
- 5 – 1.5 inch dog ribbon
- Hot glue gun and sticks
- Wrap a rope around a 5×7 picture frame or chalkboard from Dollar Tree so the loops are all the same size.
- Slide it off the frame and tie together with twine.
- Use hot glue along the loops closest to the twine to secure them together. Do this above and below the twine knot to allow the loops to stand up a little taller.
- Repeat steps 1-3 until you have four sections.
- Tie the sections all tightly together with twine, so it looks like a pumpkin. The tighter, the better!
- Use hot glue to adhere the four sections together on the top and bottom of the pumpkin. (Optional: Spray with fabric starch to make it even more stiff.)
- Glue a small stick in the center for a stem. And dress it up with a cute bow.
Isn’t this adorable? This has all the cozy, farmhouse feels that’s perfect for Fall!
We even made one out of jute and it turned out so cute!
