Step 1

Cut your cardstock in half. Take one piece and fold it in half. If you’d like, you can cut a white piece of paper a tad smaller than your card, fold it in half and tape to the inside of the cardstock.

Step 2

Cut off one third of a cupcake liner. (Half of a cupcake liner is just a little too big.) Fold over a small portion of the two sides and bottom section of the liner, so you have something to glue down onto the card. Adhere the cupcake liner near the bottom of the card.

Step 3

Glue a mix of buttons above the liner to create the cake part and top it with a bone-shaped button for the candle.

Step 4

Using a marker, draw a dashed line around the front of the card to give it the look of a stitched border.

Step 5

Spell out your message across the top of the card using the alphabet stickers or stamps. Add a birthday greeting on the inside, and it’s ready to send to your fave dog mom or dad.
