18 Mar DIY Pawprint Spring Easter Egg
Time to get crafty by making your own dog-lovers Easter home decor. This week’s project is inspired by some fun holiday Dollar Tree signs, so it’s both inexpensive and simple to create.
Best part? This colorful DIY Pawprint Spring Easter Egg is a super simple canine craft that will make your home look Easter-ready in as little as an hour.
You’ll need…
- Galvanized metal egg and Happy Easter bunny signs from Dollar Tree
- Various spring and Easter ribbons, bias tape and rick rack roughly ½ to 1 inch wide
- Pawprint cotton fabric
- Mod podge
- Brush
- Scissors
- Pen
- Hot glue gun and sticks
- Flat head screwdriver
- Scissors
Step 1
Lay the metal egg on top of the fabric, trace around the egg’s shape and cut along the line.
Step 2
Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge across the egg and press the pawprint fabric in place. Cutting a small slit in the fabric at the top of the egg will make room for the jute hanger. Cover the fabric with another thin layer of Mod Podge to secure it down.
Step 3
Cut various strips of colorful ribbon to go across the middle of the egg shape. Fold over the edges and glue them down.
Step 4
Use a small flathead screwdriver to remove the metal bunny from the sign’s backing. Pull off the bunny’s original jute bow,
Step 5
Make a new bow with ribbon. Glue the bow on the bunny and then glue the bunny to the fabric-covered egg.
How sweet! This little bunny rabbit remake is sooo darn cute and guaranteed to brighten anyone’s day. Your family will be so egg-cited for Easter!
