19 Jan Ombré Wood Valentine Door Hanger

We came across these miniature wooden craft signs and thought they’d be perfect to use for an ombré paint effect that mimics the romantic pink hues of Valentine’s Day! The slats in their pallet design make it super easy to paint this technique. All you need is a little red and white paint, but the range of colors you can create is amazing – from bright and bold to soft and subtle. Whatever suits your fancy!

To create the hanger, you simply group them together, create a little magic with a string of natural wooden beads and tassels (the kind that are so popular with farmhouse decor these days), and decorate in honor of your furry besties and buddies. Voilà! You’ve got a beautiful Ombré Wood Valentine Door Hanger. The result is so pretty you’ll want to enjoy it all year long!

You’ll need…

• 3 small unfinished wood pallet signs
• 3 inch wood pawprint
• Unfinished wood beads (½ inch in size)
• Red and white acrylic paint and a brush
• Jute twine
• Fabric glue
• Scissors

1. Paint three wood signs in shades of pink. To create the ombré effect, start by painting each wooden slat a different color pink with the lightest color at the top and darkest at the bottom.
2. Use complimentary colors for pawprint and glue it to one of the wood signs.
3. Paint wood beads white and glue them to the other two signs in a large X shape.
4. Line up the three signs X, O , X using the pawprint as the “O” in the center. If your signs don’t already have jute hangers, you’ll need to add them to all three signs now.
5. Adhere the jute hangers of the bottom two signs to the back of the sign above it so that all three signs hang together as one.
6. Paint the same ombre colors in stripes across the bottom of a jute tassel and glue it to the bottom of the hanger for a fun embellishment.
7. Hang on a door handle or your favorite spot on the wall and enjoy!
