Oh, this is gonna be so fun! After a recent visit to the local Dollar Tree, we came across a precious crown of silky shamrocks that make the perfect base for a wee little wreath for St. Patrick’s Day.

So in honor of the holiday – and the love we have for our furry four-legged leprechauns – it’s time to get busy making an easy peasy DIY Lucky In Love Mini Wreath! It’s the pawfect size to hang anywhere you like – and guaranteed to bring some Irish cheer to everyone near.

You’ll need…

Satin shamrock crown

4 – 6 inch wood shamrock

White jute string

Variety of green fabric scraps and shamrocks and daisy chain ribbons

Sharpie marker

Brown and white acrylic paints

Paintbrush

Hot glue gun and sticks

Scissors

Step 1

Paint the wood shamrock with brown paint and wipe off any excess to allow the grain of the wood to show through. Then using the least amount of white paint, lightly brush over the entire shamrock to give it a more rustic look. Let dry.

Step 2

Using the Sharpie, write “Lucky in Love” on the wooden shamrock. Of course, to give it a doggie-theme you can make the O into a little paw print shape. (How adorbs!) Set this aside.

Step 3

Apply hot glue to connect the ends of the headband crown and make a wreath shape. Wrap about half of the attached green ribbon around the joined ends and glue in place to strengthen the connection. Cut off excess ribbon.

Step 4

Wind the white jute string through the silky shamrocks around the wreath, allowing the ends of string to dangle at the bottom. Secure with glue. Tie a knot on both ends and fray them to create a rustic feel.

Step 5

Cut scraps of green fabric and a couple of ribbons that are about 8 inches in length. Fold in half and attach them to the bottom of the wreath with hot glue.

Step 6

Top the ribbon fringe with your wooden shamrock using hot glue. And you’re done!

So simple, fun and festive, you’re bound to have a shamrockin’ good time creating this little rustic charmer. And you can easily customize it with your favorite scrappy scraps from your craft stash. Any way you make it, you’ll find this quick and easy mini wreath is a St. Patrick’s Day creation every dog-lover will adore!
