15 Mar Dollar Tree Irish Wood Bead Garland
It’s time for a mini makeover – Dollar Tree edition! You know those “ah-ha” moments when you’re cruising the craft aisles and you see something that sparks an idea? Well, that’s exactly what happened this week when we came across this cute wood bead Easter garland.
With a few minor tweaks, you can easily turn this into a tiered tray trinket for St. Patrick’s Day!
All you need to do is shop your stash for some scraps of green and white fabric, ribbons, and paint…and you can make the most festive wood bead garland this side of the rainbow!
This little beauty is sure to bring a little good luck, some farmhouse charm, and maybe even a dash of boho vibes into your home decor.
You’ll need…
- Green, orange and white wood bead garland
- Shamrock wood shape cutouts in various sizes
- Green acrylic paint and brush
- Green cotton fabric
- Green paw print ribbon
- Variety scraps of white ribbons and green ribbons, rick rack and pom pom trims
- Scissors
- Mod Podge and a brush
- Fabric glue
- The Easter garland from Dollar Tree has these cute carrot beads in it that will need to be removed. (Be sure to save them for later in a fun Easter craft!) Untie the end with the cardboard carrot, remove all of the carrot beads from the garland, and restring the green, white and orange beads back onto the jute string. Set aside.
- Brush a thin layer of Mod Podge onto a 3 inch wooden shamrock and cover with green fabric. Trim around the edges and brush a second layer of Mod Podge on top to seal the fabric in place. Let dry.
- Paint a smaller 2 inch wooden shamrock using green paint. Once dry, glue it on top of the larger shamrock.
- Take the open end of the bead garland and knot the jute twine, making a loop. Glue the loop to the back of the wooden shamrocks.
- Remove the jute tassel from the other end of the garland. Discard the jute strings and keep the orange ribbon.
- Cut a variety of green and white ribbons and trims roughly 7-8 inches in length. (Don’t forget to add a paw print ribbon or two in honor of our little furry leprechauns!) Add the orange ribbon back into the stack. Tie the bunch tightly in the middle using twine from the open end of the garland.
- Give your tassel a little trim to even out the ends, as needed, and enjoy!
This easy craft is perfect for adding a touch of farmhouse charm to your tiered tray, mantel, or anywhere in your home that needs a little extra luck of the Irish. ✨🍀
