24 May Fabric Hoop Flowers
Today we’re hoopin’ it up with these colorful and charming Fabric Hoop Flowers.
This project is super fun and easy! In just a few simple steps we’ll show you how to create a cute rag flower using an embroidery hoop frame. All you need is the hoop, some burlap ribbon and a scraps of doggie fabric – and you’re ready to get started.
Follow these simple steps to create your own little beauties…
You’ll need…
- 4” embroidery hoop
- ¼ yard of dog fabric
- 5 inch burlap ribbon in yellow
- Scissors
- Twine
- To begin, cut fabric into 1.5 inch wide strips that are about 9 inches long. You’ll need about 25 – 30 strips or so. Any ragged edges or loose strings will give the flower a nice rustic appearance.
- Tie the strips to the outside embroidery hoop frame, one by one, until the entire hoop is filled in.
- Cut a nice size piece of burlap ribbon that’s large enough to cover the inside hoop and place it on top.
- Tuck the smaller hoop and burlap into the opening of the larger hoop and press the hoops together. Tighten the nut on the larger hoop to secure everything in place.
- Tie a short piece of twine to the hardware on the embroidery hoop and it’s ready to hang!
There you have it! A beautiful rag flower to hang up that celebrates your love for a furry best friend. These are so customizable – the sky’s the limit on colors and fabrics you can use! They could also make gorgeous package toppers if you enjoy presenting a beautifully wrapped package. Skip the string and glue them on to the top!
