21 Jan Dollar Tree DIY Dog Lovers Heart Rag Wreath
If you’re ready to bring some love to your winter front door, you’ve come to the right place.
We’ve got fun and super-simple Valentine’s Day craft for dog lovers that anyone can do. A quick trip to your local Dollar Tree to pick up a heart-shaped wreath form and a stash of doggie fabric scraps, is all you need to get started.
This project takes a little patience to complete, but the best part is that you can do it curled up on the couch next to your favorite furry love bug.
You’ll need…
1 yard of valentine dog fabric (or 4-5 fat quarters) in pink, red or multi
Scissors
Step 1
If you’re using a variety of fabrics on your wreath, it’s best to use fabrics with colors that compliment each other. This will give your door decor a more cohesive look. For this project, we’ve selected fabrics in red, white, pink and black.
To begin, cut your fabric into 1 inch wide strips that are about 7-8 inches long. For a more rustic look, you can tear or rip the fabric into strips. The ragged edges and loose strings will give the wreath a nice ragged appearance.
Step 2
Tie the strips to the wire frame, one by one, until the entire wreath is filled in. (Hint, if you’d like your wreath to be really nice and full, use 1.5 to 2 yards of fabric.)
Step 3
Attach the dog kisses sign with the wire hanger tucked under the top of the wreath. This allows you to use the sign’s hanger as the hanger for the wreath.
There you have it! A beautiful rag wreath to hang up for Valentine’s Day that’s as soft and fluffy as your furry best friend.
