American Flag Stars

Get ready for another easy-peasy patriotic DIY! As usual, it’s inspired by a recent trip we took to the local Dollar Tree. This week, we’re taking two chunky wooden stars and turning them into a red, white & blue duo that comes together just like the American flag.

It’s a fun, fuss-free DIY that turns basic shapes into a sweet symbol of the season. With a little fabric, a bit of Mod Podge, and your crafty imagination, you’ll have a set of stars that’s perfect for decorating shelves, tiered trays, or tabletops this summer.

Cute, quick, and full of flag-inspired flair!

You’ll need…

  1. Paint the backs and sides of a star in blue and do the same for the other star in red. Let dry.
  2. Trace the blue star onto your favorite blue and white fabric and cut it out. Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge onto the front of the star and press the fabric shape in place.
  3. Trace the red star onto your red and white striped fabric. Cut out the star shape and adhere the fabric to the front of your red star with a thin layer of Mod Podge.
  4. This next step is optional. If you’d like your stars to have a more rustic look, use a bit of sandpaper and sand the edges of the fabric to rough them up a bit. And you’re done!

Here’s proof that great things come in twos! Pair them up for a patriotic pop that brings cozy, crafty vibes to your decor. You’ll find they’re perfectly suited for your centerpieces, entryway tables, or anywhere you want a splash of red, white & blue! ❤️🤍💙
