Christmas Pillow Door Knob Hanger

Oh my gosh, this week’s craft might be the cutest one yet! We’re taking a festive pot holder from Dollar Tree and transforming it into a darling DIY holiday door hanger that’s perfect for Christmas decorating. With its jingling bells, handmade felt holly, and cozy “furry and bright” theme, this Dollar Tree Christmas craft adds instant charm to any door or entryway.

It’s fun, whimsical, and full of howl-iday spirit. This easy DIY also makes an adorable dog lover gift idea, so don’t be surprised if you end up making one for every pup-parent on your list!

You’ll need…

Pillow Door Knob Hanger supplies on Amazon

  1. Use a seam ripper to make a small opening in the binding or trim at the top of the pot holder that’s about an inch in size.
  2. Lightly stuff the potholder and then use fabric glue to close the opening back up.
  3. Take apart the door knob hanger and glue the large ring to the top of the pot holder. Wrap the loose binding or trim around the ring and glue it down to help secure the ring in place. Cut off any excess trim, as needed.
  4. Cut two large holly leaves from green felt. Add piping details to them using white puffy paint. Once dry, attach these to the top of the pot holder, covering up the opening you made in Step 1.
  5. Glue three large red wood beads (i.e. berries) to the middle of the holly leaves.
  6. Use three of the dangling jingle bells from the door knob hanger and glue them to the back of the pot holder. The bells should be easily visible from the bottom of the holder and hang freely.

It’s amazing how a few budget-friendly supplies can create something that feels so special. Best of all, this sweet little door hanger adds just the right hint of wag-worthy whimsy and cheerful chimes to your Christmas décor!
