08 Nov DIY No Sew Dog Silhouette Table Runner
Starting today, all pups are allowed on the table!! (say what?!)
These fast and fun DIY Dog Silhouette Table Runners are just too darn cute and will definitely be the star of your holiday get-togethers. We just know all you not “sew” crafty gals (and guys) out there will love it!
You’ll need…
- ½ yard plaid upholstery fabric
- ¼ yard solid color upholstery fabric
- Double-sided fusible adhesive tape, ½ inch wide
- Scissors
- Sharpie marker
- Iron
Note: Before ya get started, you’ll need to create a template of your desired silhouette. You can find images on Google for inspiration. Using this silhouette image of your favorite pup, print an enlarged version on paper to use as a template for your runner…pick a size that’s about 2-3 feet long and 15-18 inches tall. If you’re not sure how to enlarge, bring your image to a print shop for them to enlarge it for you!
Step 1
Cut out your pup body shape using the plaid fabric. With the solid colored fabric, cut out a few features like doggie spots or an ear. (In this example, our pup also has a collar bow made from felt to up the girly factor!)
Step 2
Use the fusible adhesive tape to iron the fabric pieces in place and then draw “stitches” on the ears and spots. (Avoid marking any lines on felt, ‘cuz the ink may bleed and blur.)
And that’s it! So simple. So functional. So originally yours! And we just love how the raw edges add a little fluff to your new furry table friend.
