07 May DIY Dog Mom Jenga Keyring
For those days when you’re out-and-about without your best fur friend by your side, it’s nice to have a special memento of your fluffy muffin that you can carry with you.
So we thought it’d be fun to create some custom keyrings using simple wooden blocks from everyone’s favorite tumbling tower game – Jenga! This easy 10-minute DIY Dog Mom Jenga Keyring is such a unique and memorable item to bring with you wherever you go.
They also make thoughtful gifts for Dog Mom’s Day! Imagine the look on her face when she receives this beautiful gift. Your favorite fur-mom will think of you every time she picks up her keys!
You’ll need…
- Travel sized tumble tower blocks from Dollar Tree or Amazon
- Photo of your pup
- Colorful scrapbook paper or wrapping paper
- Washi tape stickers
- Alphabet stickers
- Mod podge
- Brush
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Sandpaper (optional)
Step 1
Cut pieces of scrapbook paper to fit three sides and the bottom of your wooden block. Coat the block’s sides and bottom with Mod Podge and adhere the papers to each.
Step 2
Print and cut out a tiny photo of your pup to fit the remaining empty side on your block. Paint a thin layer of Mod Podge on the block and press the photo in place. Once everything is dry, lightly sand the edges with sandpaper, if you’d like.
Step 3
Embellish the block with any scrapbook goodies like stickers, washi tape, etc. Don’t forget to spell out Dog Mom (or your dog’s name) with the alphabet stickers!
Step 4
Lightly coat the entire block with two layers of Mod Podge to secure and protect everything.
Step 5
Once the glaze has dried, screw in the eye hook at the top of the block and attach a circular key ring. That’s it!
Customize with your own details or message and have fun making it! Not only are these keyrings a thoughtful and beautifully made item, but they are functional too. We think this is just the sweetest way to celebrate being a dog mom all year long – and also a lovely way to pamper your fur mom friends and family around Mother’s Day!
