24 Jun DIY Americana Dog Fabric Decor Balls
Today we’re celebrating July 4th with an easy doggie DIY project that anyone can do!
It’s so festive to add dog-themed accessories around the house and this time of year anything that has to do with the American Flag is an added bonus. That’s where the idea for these charming rustic red, white and blue Americana Dog Fabric Decor Balls came to mind. And ooooh they turn out so cute – such a fun way to get into the spirit of the holiday!
A few styrofoam balls, some left over doggie fabric, and pawprint ribbons make this an inexpensive no-sew project you can do in no time at all!
You’ll need…
Step 1
Cut out various fabrics into strips so they’re roughly .5 – 1 inch wide and about 10 inches long. It will take about 6-8 strips of fabric to cover one styrofoam ball.
Step 2
Wrap a strip around the styrofoam ball and secure it with one or two pins.
Step 3
Continue wrapping fabric strips around the ball until it’s completely covered – each time making sure to start and end each strip at the same spot.
Step 4
To give the decor a little doggie flair, wrap a pawprint ribbon around the ball and secure it in place. Be creative! You can alternate fabrics, jute twine and ribbons to create the pawfect display.
Between Memorial Day in May, Flag Day in June, and the 4th of July, summers in the USA are chock full of red, white, and blue. And these little beauties are bound to be your new favorite patriotic pup-lovin’ decorations!
