You’ll need…
- 1.5 cup oats
- 1/2 cup 100% Pure Pumpkin Purée (pumpkin only, not the pie filling!)
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries (diced)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp honey*
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- Cookie sheet or Bone treat pan
* Raw honey should not be fed to puppies or dogs with compromised immune systems.
Time Required: 15 minutes prep. Bake for 10-15 minutes at 350°F.
Servings: 20 yummy treats
Note: If you have any concerns about what you’re feeding your dogs or questions regarding possible allergic reactions, please contact your vet.
- Quickly pulse oats in a food processor 3-4 times to break down the oats a bit. (You’re not looking to make oat flour, just to chop the oats into smaller pieces.)
- Dice the dried cranberries. Set aside.
- Combine all ingredients (except cranberries) in a large bowl and mix until well combined. Then fold cranberries into the mix.
- Roll mixture into balls and place on a baking sheet. Flatten each with your thumb. Or you can fill small baking molds to create fun-shaped treats.
- Place in an oven that has been preheated to 350°. Cook for 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or place in the freezer for up to 3 months.
These turn out amazingly delicious! Best of all, you’re guaranteed to hear the sound of puppy toes doing a happy dance on your kitchen floor while you bake!
