29 Oct DIY Frozen Candy Corn Pupsicles
Every doggie trickster deserves a special treat on Howl-o-ween. And these DIY Frozen Candy Corn Pupsicles couldn’t be easier to make. Quickly whip up a batch for your four-legged fur kids before you take the whole family out for Trick-or-Treating – and these frozen delights will be ready to snack on shortly after you get home.
You’ll need…
Mini muffin pan or silicone candy molds like these adorable paw print-shaped ones!
Ingredients:
1 banana
1 can pumpkin puree (pumpkin only, not the pie filling!)
Plain or vanilla yogurt
Time Required:
10 minutes + 3 hours freeze time
Servings:
20 yummy treats
This recipe calls for plain, unsweetened yogurt. All natural, vanilla yogurt is ok and shouldn’t bother your dog, but plain or Greek yogurt is a far better option, since vanilla yogurt will have sweeteners. Regardless of which you choose, please make sure the yogurt DOES NOT CONTAIN the artificial sweetener XYLITOL. It’s extremely toxic to dogs!!
Note: Bananas, pumpkin and yogurt are safe for dogs to eat. If you have any concerns about what you’re feeding your dogs or questions regarding possible allergic reactions, please contact your vet.
Step 1
Cut banana into thin ½ inch slices and place a single slice in the bottom of each spot of the muffin pan.
Step 2
Place about ½ teaspoon of pumpkin puree on top of each banana.
Step 3
Stir the yogurt in its container to soften it a bit and then place a small dollop on top of the pumpkin.
Step 4
Freeze for 3-4 hours or overnight. Once solid, remove the frozen treats from the tray and store in an air-tight container in the freezer.
So colorful, quick and tasty. These spooktacular bites are the best doggie sweet treats for Halloween!!
Important Tip! These frozen pupsicles are best served outdoors…and just a few at a time (to avoid the dreaded brain freeze…haha!). When sharing them indoors, be sure to supervise your pup. if your dog wanders off and drops one on the floor, the frozen treats will melt and the pumpkin may stain your carpet!
