20 Mar Dollar Tree Easter Bunny Wood Bead Wreath
The first day of Spring is here! 🌸
Ahhh…there’s something special about this time of year. Doesn’t it just feel like you can breathe a little deeper and linger a little longer outside these days? Our furry BFFs are sure lovin’ it!
To celebrate all the bunnies and blooms, we’ve got an adorable DIY Easter Bunny wreath to share! Of course most everything you need can be found at your local Dollar Tree. When you go, be sure to pick up a natural wood bead wreath, an Easter bead garland, and your favorite bunny sign. The rest of the supplies are most likely hiding in your craft stash at home.
The end result is something your peeps and pups will adore!
Let’s hop to it!
You’ll need…
- 10 inch natural wood bead wreath
- Pressed board bunny sign
- Easter garland with wooden carrot beads
- ½ inch green wood beads
- Scrap of paw print fabric
- Rick rack trim in various colors and sizes (baby to jumbo)
- Small daisy faux flowers
- Hot glue gun and sticks
- Scissors
- Pliers
- Using pliers, unhook one end of the wood bead wreath and remove 13 wood beads.
- Gather up 3 carrot beads from the Easter garland and 3 green beads. Then string them onto the wreath form in the following pattern: green bead, carrot bead, natural bead. Repeat this three times until your wreath is filled with beads.
- Bend the open wire through the other end of the wreath form to secure the ends together. Shape the wreath form back into a nice round circle, as needed.
- If your bunny sign has a hanger, now is a good time to remove it. You’ll only need the head of the bunny rabbit for this project, so use scissors to cut it away from the rest of the sign.
- Place the face under the wreath so that it looks like it’s peeking out from behind it. Once you’re happy with the placement, trim any excess around the bottom and secure the face to the wreath form using hot glue.
- Glue a few daisy flowers across the bunny’s forehead. (It’s a cute way to cover up the hole from the hanger!)
- Next, cover the bare wire ends of the wreath by cutting random strips of rick rack trim and tying them over this spot.
- Tear off a 16-18 inch strip of paw print fabric, so that it has those rustic raw edges, and tie this over the rick rack. Even up the lengths of your fabric and trims with scissors, as needed.
Optional – Tie a small piece of twine at the top of the wreath for a hanger and enjoy!
Display this little beauty in a favorite spot to get everyone egg-cited for the big day when Peter Cottontail arrives! Our pups never pass up an opportunity to join in the treasure hunt. 🐰💗
