03 Nov Kid’s Ball Christmas Ornament
Today’s craft project will bring out the kid in you! Run to Walmart and locate the plastic kickballs. You know, the ones in the big racks in the toy aisle… and put two or three of them in your cart ‘cuz you’ll want to make more than one of these Kid’s Ball Christmas Ornaments!
Then head to the craft section to find your favorite Christmas fabric (ours is always dog-themed!), some greenery picks, berries or pine cones, and a pretty coordinating ribbon. Of course, you can shop your stash at home for anything you may already have.
Before you leave the store, don’t forget zip ties! You’ll need one for each outdoor ornament you make. Found out from a kind employee that these can be found in the automotive department.
This project goes together in a flash and turns out so pretty! We have to give a big shout out to @nicksseasonaldecor for this project’s inspo!
You’ll need…
- Large piece of Christmas fabric (roughly 24 x 24 inches)
- 2 inch wide ribbon
- 8.5 inch plastic kickball
- Start by wrapping the ball with fabric.
- Gather all of the fabric together and secure the ends with a zip tie.
- Tuck in the folds and glue down any loose ends.
- Trim excess fabric at the top.
- Glue one end of your ribbon into the top.
- Add greenery, pinecones or berries around the top to hide the zip tie.
- Hang outside and enjoy!
Don’t ya just love the oversized look of these decorations? They’d look great outdoors hanging from your trees… or would be perfect hanging in a large entryway by the front door. Wherever you place them, this doggie DIY is a fun, festive and easy way to decorate your house for the holiday!
