08 Feb Apple Oat Heart-Shaped Dog Treats
There’s something about the combination of apples and oats….baked fresh and tasty, right from the oven, it’s comfort food that warms the heart and smells like home. So we’ve come up with a yummy canine cookie recipe that’ll make your pups happy to the core. 🍎
This healthy homemade recipe is all about treating your furry Valentine with love! And these super-delish, easy-to-make, all-natural Apple Oat Heart-Shaped Dog Treats are the paw-fect treat for Valentine’s…or any day of the year.
You’ll need…
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups old fashioned oats
1 cup flour
1 egg
½ cup applesauce
½ tbsp. coconut oil
1 tbsp. honey
Parchment paper
Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
* Raw honey should not be fed to puppies or dogs with compromised immune systems.
Time Required:
15 minutes prep. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350°F.
Servings:
20 yummy treats
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine flour, old fashioned oats and cinnamon.
Step 2
In a separate bowl mix egg, applesauce, and oil together. Stir in honey. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the flour and old fashioned oats mixture until incorporated.
Step 3
Roll out dough until it’s about 1/4″ thick. Cut with cookie cutters or simply cut into small squares and place onto a greased non-stick baking sheet.
Step 4
Bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned on the bottom. You can store treats in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks or place in the freezer for up to 3 months.
