21 May Apple Carrot Cooler Pupsicles
Today we’re gonna whip up some tasty frozen fun with a batch of these super simple froyo doggie treats. They’re the perfect remedy to help keep our pups cool on those hot Summer days!
You’ll need…
Silicone ice cube trays or candy molds – We found some paw print-shaped and Dachshund ones that were too cute to pass up!
Immersion blender, blender or food processor
Ingredients:
1/2 cup organic Greek yogurt
1 medium carrot or small handful of baby carrots
1/3 cup applesauce
1/8 teaspoon of ground ginger
Time Required:
5 minutes + 3 hours freeze time
Servings:
20 yummy treats
This recipe calls for plain, unsweetened yogurt, however, all natural, vanilla yogurt is fine to use too. Regardless of which you choose, please make sure the yogurt does not have any of the artificial sweetener Xylitol, as it’s extremely toxic to dogs!!
Note: Carrots, applesauce, ginger and yogurt are safe for dogs to eat. If you have any concerns about what you’re feeding your dogs or questions regarding possible allergic reactions, please call your vet.
Step 1
To prep, peel carrot and cut into small slices.
Step 2
Add yogurt, applesauce, carrot and ginger into a blender and mix thoroughly.
Step 3
Then pour mixture into your mold and freeze for 3-4 hours or overnight. Once solid, remove the frozen treats from the tray and store in an air-tight container in the freezer.
Aw, now these are our favorite kind of chilly dogs! Be sure to keep your cute and cuddly companion cool with these tasty frozen treats.
Note: We suggest serving these yummy frozen pupsicles outside…and just a few at a time (to avoid the dreaded brain freeze). If you give these to your pup in the house, the frozen carrot could melt and stain your carpet!
