23 Apr God Bless America Wood Round
This year marks the 250th anniversary of the good ‘ole US of A… and that feels like a pretty great reason to celebrate! ❤️🤍💙
So we’re taking a simple wood round from Dollar Tree and giving it a full-on patriotic glow-up with red plaid fabric, recycled denim, and all those classic Americana touches we love. Add in a vintage-style farm truck, a “God Bless America” sign, and a fun red, white, and blue ribbon. Suddenly you’ve got a piece that feels festive, nostalgic, and ready for the season!
Let’s get this party started…
You’ll need…
- Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the top 2/3rds of the wood round. (If your wood round has a jute hanger, remove and set it aside before applying the Mod Podge.)
- Place the red and white fabric over the Mod Podge and smooth out any wrinkles. Trim away any excess from the edges.
- Apply Mod Podge to the bottom 1/3rd of the wood round and adhere a piece of denim fabric. Smooth out any wrinkles and cut any excess fabric from the edges.
- Glue a thin ribbon across the top of the denim to cover the raw edge. Trim excess ribbon.
- Remove the jute hanger from the metal truck sign and glue it down so the truck sits on the red plaid and the God Bless America sign sits on the denim.
- Glue the strands of red, white and blue beads around the wood round. Then flip the wood round over and glue nautical rope around the edge to support the wood beads.
- Poke two holes in the red fabric where the openings are in the wood. Thread the thin jute hanger through the holes to put it back in place.
- Add a fun star spangled bow near the bottom of the wood round for a final touch!
Hang it on your front door and you’ve got the perfect welcome for Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day… or any day you’re feeling a little extra proud to show off the red, white, and blue.
