Easter Eggs Envelope

There’s something about handmade pieces that feel like they belong to another time. You know, the ones that look right at home among fresh flowers, soft linens, and a table set for spring.

This week’s Dollar Tree DIY Easter craft captures that feeling with a rustic Easter envelope decoration layered in burlap, ribbons, and sweet little details. Filled with the prettiest decoupaged eggs and soft raffia, you’ll get lost in the joy of creating such a simple project that feels both thoughtful and timeless.

You’ll need…

  1. Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to a wooden egg. Take the top ply from a paper napkin and place it on top. Then gently pat the paper to remove any wrinkles and trim away the excess paper. Repeat this step for about 5-6 eggs.
  2. Cut out a piece of cardboard that is 7 x 14 inches in size. Snip the corners off one end to make a pointy end (this will be the top of the envelope).

Tip: It’s easier to cut the cardboard if the ridges are vertically lined up with the tallest part. That way, you’re not cutting through ridges for 14 inches and end up with bumpy sides.
  3. Make two score marks across the width of the cardboard. One that’s 5 inches and one that’s 6 inches from the squared end.
  4. This step is optional, but if you’d like, you can glue some jute twine around the edges of the cardboard to give it a more polished look.
  5. Using the top ply from another paper napkin, cut out a piece that fits within the top of the cardboard envelope and glue it in place.
  6. Fold the squared end of the cardboard up along the two scored lines. Then wrap the folded section with natural burlap ribbon to create the pocket of the envelope. Glue the burlap ends down.
  7. Wrap the pink burlap ribbon around the envelope and secure it in place. Add a cute ribbon on top of the pink one and adhere it with glue.
  8. Stuff a bunch of raffia into the envelope and tuck the colored eggs on top. Glue anything that’s loose to keep it in place.
  9. Make a fun bow using large and small Easter ribbons. Then glue it onto the front of the envelope.
  10. Add a cute bunny embellishment to the other side and you’re done!

Look how pretty this turns out! Best of all, it’s a DIY Easter décor idea that’s a charming alternative to the traditional basket and soooo simple to make, thoughtful to give, and so very special for family and guests to enjoy this holiday season.
