02 Oct Wood Slice Jack-O-Lantern Garland
Nothing sets the mood for Halloween quite like handmade décor, and this week’s project is full of whimsical little characters you’ll adore.
We’re crafting a festive garland made with wood slice jack-o’-lanterns, strung together with jute twine and accented with black and orange beads. Each little pumpkin face has its own personality, making this garland a playful addition to your spooky-season décor. And because we never forget our four-legged pals, this garland even includes a playful nod to them. 🐶🎃
It’s simple, seasonal, and the perfect handmade touch to bring Halloween spirit into your home!
You’ll need…
- Coat one side of the wood slice with orange paint. Repeat for all wood slices. Let dry.
- Draw a spooky cute face using a black marker on each slice. This is where you can really be creative and have some fun!
- Feel free to glue a small orange/black bow to the top to a few of your jack-o-lanterns, if you’d like.
- Add an orange and black bead to some jute twine and string the twine through the opening in a wood slice. Then thread the twine back through the beads and make a knot to secure the jack-o-lantern in place. Continue adding beads and wood slices to the twine, until you’re done.
- Tear off some black and white fabric, making strips that are about 1 inches wide and 7 inches long. Tie one or more strips of fabric in between each pumpkin.
Hang your ghoulish garland on the mantel, across a bookcase, or along a window ledge and enjoy! Fun to make, easy to love, and sure to be a festive favorite this fall!
