07 Aug French Toile de Jouy Pumpkin Jar
Oh my gosh, if you love the current blue and white French Toile de Jouy trend, you’re gonna fall in💙with this Dollar Tree makeover! Today, we’re sharing a fun and quick fall craft project that takes a new favorite find from Dollar Tree and turns it into a festive napkin-covered pumpkin, just in time for the cozy Fall season!
The best part is the ceramic pumpkins we found are actually covered dishes. Just wait ‘til you see how easy it is to upgrade them into a stunning DIY candy jar, trinket box, candle holder, or sugar bowl. These beauties are so versatile, you could even toss in a few of your pup’s favorite biscuits and use it as a stylish dog treat jar. How sweet is that?!
Simply gather up a white ceramic pumpkin, some Mod Podge and a few blue and white napkins – and you’re ready to get started…
You’ll need…
- Ceramic white pumpkin with lid
- Mod Podge
- Several blue/white toile paper napkins
- Scissors
- Begin by cutting out the floral shapes from your napkin into pieces that are about 1-3 inches in size. No need to be exact.
- Brush a thin layer of Mod Podge onto a small area of the pumpkin surface and gently place a piece of napkin on top. Lightly pull and tap with your fingers to spread the flowers over the surface and remove some of the wrinkles. Note: You won’t be able to get rid of all wrinkles, so embrace the imperfections!
- Continue gluing napkin sections until the pumpkin and the lid are completely covered. Cut away any excess napkin, as needed. Let dry.
- Brush a final thin layer of Mod Podge over the entire pumpkin and lid to secure the napkins in place. If you’d like the pumpkin to be washable, consider using dishwasher safe Mod Podge instead.
These chinoiserie cuties will add a flair of timeless beauty and country charm to your fall decor! Super easy, and we love the little bling of gold on top with the pumpkin stem. Gives it an elevated look without all the effort. Let us know how your’s turns out!
