30 Jan Denim Pocket Full of Love
Ready to make your space even more heart-ful?
This week, we’re diving into a quick and easy DIY project that will jazz up your home for Valentine’s Day without breaking the bank.
To begin, grab an old pair of jeans from the back of your closet and let’s get crafty! This cute denim door hanger is a playful pocket of love that can be decorated with felt, flowers, buttons, etc.
But wait, there’s more! To make your pocket extra paw-tacular, dig into your fabric stash for a scrap of dog-themed fabric. Something cute with paw prints will let everyone know who makes your heart go pitter-patter. 🐾
Once your masterpiece is ready to hang on the door, you can fill it up with adorable red, pink and white plushies – or whatever your heart desires.
Who knew turning old jeans into heart-filled joy could be so much fun? Happy crafting!
You’ll need…
- Jeans shorts back pocket
- Scrap of pink or red doggie-themed fabric (fat quarter in size)
- Felt sheets in red, white and pink
- Mix of felt roses, paper or silk flowers, heart buttons, etc.
- Small piece of red and white ribbon
- Fabric glue
- Pen
- Scissors
- Cut the back pocket off of a pair of denim jeans or shorts, leaving about an inch across the top.
- Trace a heart shape onto a piece of dog-themed fabric. Cut this out and glue it onto the pocket.
- Cut out a small heart from red felt and glue this onto the pocket next.
- Continue decorating the pocket with a few heart-shaped buttons, faux flowers, etc. until you’re happy with the mixture of embellishments you made.
- Turn the pocket over and glue a small piece of ribbon across the top, folding the excess denim over the ribbon to secure it in place. Tie the two ends of ribbon together to form a hanger.
- Make a few stuffed hearts from scraps of fabric or felt. Tuck them into the pocket.
- Hang it in a favorite spot and enjoy!
