17 Jan Dollar Tree DIY: Paper Straws Heart Wall Decor
Great news! The craft section at your local Dollar Tree is filled with inspiration for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday. So many cute red, pink and white finds!
When you go, be sure to bring home some paper straws, pretty faux flowers, and a wooden heart shape for this week’s craft. You’ll be pleasantly surprised how easy it is to create the sweetest Valentine’s DIY decoration from a collection of colorful party straws.
This Paper Straws Heart Wall Décor is a budget-friendly craft that can be customized in so many ways. Of course we suggest adding a pinch of puppy paw prints into the mix to make your DIY creation even more lovable. 🐾

You’ll need…
- 10 inch wood heart cutout or sign
- White acrylic paint & brush
- Red and white paper straws
- Mix of red, white and pink silk flowers
- ¼ inch red paw prints ribbon
- Hot glue and sticks
- Scissors
- Remove any hanger on your wood heart, as needed.
- Give the front of the heart a coat of white paint. Let dry.
- Hot glue the straws onto your heart vertically. Starting from the middle (about 4.5 inches up from the bottom) and working your way out to both sides. Be sure the ends of the straws line up nicely as you glue them to the heart.
- Once the glue has set, flip the heart over and trim off the excess overlapping straws leaving just the heart shape.
- Cut several small flower stems and tuck them into various straws to create a colorful bouquet. Glue stems in place, as needed.
- Tie a small piece of ribbon to the top for a hanger.
- Hang it in a favorite spot and enjoy!
