Looking for a fun activity to do during your next holiday get-together? Yule love this one! 🎁
All you need are some green paints, a few wood slices, a jar lid or empty paper towel roll, and some cotton swabs to make the cutest Q-tips wreath ornaments. These are the perfect holiday DIY for the whole family!
They’re so quick and easy to make – and everyone gets to hang their masterpiece on the tree – or take it home as a party favor.
Just think of the laughter and fond memories you’ll make getting crafty together!
You’ll need…
- One or more natural wood slices, 2 – 3 inches
- Green and white acrylic paints and brush
- Cotton swabs
- Red, green, gold and silver seed beads or glitter
- 1/4 inch paw print ribbon
- Paper towel roll or jar lid
- Fabric glue or hot glue gun and sticks
- Jute twine
- Scissors
- Coat one side of the wood slice with white paint. Let dry.
- Lightly paint the end of an empty paper roll with dark green paint and use it to “stamp” a few circles onto the wood slice.
- Next, use Q-tips to make the green leaves. Dip a cotton swab into the paint and dab it in and around the circular shape on your slice. Repeat with several shades of green paint until you’re happy with the fullness of your wreath.
- Glue various seed beads, gems, glitter or mini pom poms around your wreath a little sparkle!
- Adhere a bow to the top of your wreath. (Drill a small hole near the top, if your slice doesn’t already have one.) And thread some jute string through the hole for a hanger.
Hang on the tree and enjoy… or have fun decorating with these in unexpected places! Add a festive flair in your kitchen by hanging them from a cabinet knob; place them around candlesticks; or even use them as napkin rings at the dinner table.
