DIY Rustic Star Anise Wreath

Let’s celebrate simplicity this holiday season with a DIY Rustic Star Anise Wreath for Christmas. Hint: This is a great I’ve-got-no-time-to-be-crafting project ‘cuz it’s easy and fast to make!

All you need is a metal hoop, some twine, glue and a bag of whole star anise. If you’re not familiar with anise, this spice has these wonderful star-shaped pods that are naturally perfect for creating cheerful Christmas decor.

Looking for a new holiday party activity that’s fun for the whole family? Here’s an idea…use this same technique to make mini wreath ornaments for your Christmas tree.

Big or small, these little beauties are the festive finishing touches your home needs this holiday!

You’ll need…

  1. Wrap your wire hoop with jute twine until it’s completely covered. Glue the twine down every few inches to ensure it stays in place.
  2. Glue each star onto the wreath form, leaving a 1 inch space at the top for the ribbon. You’ll need about 30-35 stars to cover an 8 inch ring. Consider flipping a few of the stars over and gluing down the opposite side to add interest to your piece!
  3. Tear off a 1 inch piece of fabric to use as a rustic ribbon. Then tie it around the wreath form in a single knot or make a droopy bow.
  4. Hang and enjoy!

Here’s your proof you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on Christmas decorations. This project is cheap, cute and makes a darling statement piece. Plus this lovely little wreath smells amazing! Such a fun way to make your space sparkle. ✨
