Thankful For Fur Family Decor

Fall is the season of harvest, abundance and family…which means there’s always so much to be thankful for! As dog moms, we’re especially grateful for the little pups in our life: Ginger, Hank, Hazel and Josie. These darling rascals add so much joy to our lives, so this week’s craft is all about them.

As a way to show our gratitude (a.k.a. brag about our furry besties), we’ve come up with a quick and cute DIY that is truly special. Start with a quick trip to Hobby Lobby for their unfinished wood Thankful sign and then head to Amazon to fetch a personalized wooden pumpkin for each member of your fur family. Dig through your craft stash for some warm-colored fabric scraps and you’ve got the makings for a stunning autumn wall hanging.

Spoiler alert 🚨😉 If you make this beauty, it’s guaranteed to be your favorite Fall decor year after year!

You’ll need…

  1. Start by tracing the inner shape of your personalized pumpkin onto a scrap piece of fabric and cut it out. Use fabric glue to secure it in place on the back of the wood pumpkin.
  2. Trace the entire pumpkin shape onto a coordinating fabric. Cut out the shape and glue it to the back of the wood pumpkin.
  3. Repeat the first two steps for any remaining wood pumpkins.
  4. Using a small piece of twine, tie your pumpkins along the bottom of the Thankful sign.
  5. Remove the original twine hanger from the Thankful sign and replace it with a rough-cut or torn piece of fabric. Hang and enjoy!

So pretty and doggone easy! We just love how customizable this project is! You can even add personalized pumpkins for your entire family and let everyone know you’ve got lots to be grateful for.
