20 Oct Paper Mini Wreath Ornaments
The holidays are inching closer and we’ve got a Christmas craft tutorial that’s sure to get you in the festive spirit! Today’s project is all about holiday cheer (in miniature) and letting your pup-lovin’ personality sparkle.
The best part is these DIY Paper Mini Wreath Ornaments are so easy to make! All you need are a few common supplies and a little imagination. After some simple prep, each mini wreath takes less than 10 minutes to make. We’ve created them in the traditional green/red colors, but you could easily change things up with a pink/white pairing or really any other color combo. Your wreath, your rules! 😂
You’ll need…
- 140 lb watercolor paper
- Acrylic paints in green, red and white
- Mini wood pawprint discs
- ¼ inch red pawprint ribbon
- Elmer’s glue
- Fabric glue (optional)
- Scissors
- A round object to trace like a pencil holder or cup
- Paint one side of your paper with green paint. Repeat and paint another piece of paper.
- Glue the backsides of the paper together with a generous amount of Elmer’s glue.
- Place paper into a ziploc bag and refrigerate 2+ hours or overnight.
- Use a round object to trace an outer and inner circle and cut out the wreath shape.
- Make lots of small cuts along the outer and inner edge of your wreath.
- Splay the little pieces apart to make your fringe.
- Glue on several wood pawprint discs and add dots of paint to decorate your wreath.
- Attach a red ribbon hanger and bow.
Aren’t these ornaments so stinkin’ cute? Not only do they look great hanging from the tree, but they are lovely hanging from door handles, cabinets, or on top of a gift for a little something extra.
