13 Oct Apple Chicken Gelatin Gummy Treats
It’s been a little while since we made gelatin gummy dog treats – and this time, we’re trying out a new flavor! These easy Apple Chicken Gelatin Gummy Bones use a few simple ingredients: applesauce, ground chicken, water, Unflavored KNOX gelatin powder and a dash of cinnamon. You’ll be surprised at how fun these dog treats are to make – mostly because of their wiggly feel and gummy texture!

You’ll need…
- ¼ cup applesauce*
- ¼ lb lean ground chicken
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- Water
- Unflavored KNOX gelatin powder (1 packet or 1 tablespoon)
- Silicone candy molds
* Make sure the applesauce does not contain the artificial sweetener xylitol. It’s extremely toxic to dogs!
Time Required: 20 minutes + 2 hours fridge time
Servings: 36 yummy treats
- Boil ground chicken in a pot on medium high heat for 15 minutes.
- Reserve a 1/3 cup of warm chicken broth from the pot and set aside.
- Place cooked chicken into a blender. Add applesauce and cinnamon and puree everything until smooth.
- Whisk gelatin powder and reserved broth in a mixing bowl until fully dissolved.
- Pour mixture into the broth and stir until combined.
- Spoon the mixture into each mold.
- Place treats in the refrigerator for 2 hours, or until fully set.
Treats can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 – 5 days.
