18 Aug DIY Personalized Fabric Pens
Ok so we saw this super fun idea to add fabric to pens with double-sided sticky tape. With all the crazy dog fabrics we have, we were really excited to give it a try. This couldn’t be easier – and just look how they turn out! So stinkin’ cute!!
You’ll need…
Check out this great DIY hack for making your own custom pens:
- Use clear pens that you can open. You’ll be putting fabric inside the pen, so choose pens that have a clear body and make sure they have an end you can pull out or unscrew to take them apart. We found the easiest to use are RSVP pens by Pentel.
- Cut straws to fit the inside of your pen. For this project, straws were cut to 3.5 inches in length.
- Cover the straws with a piece of double-sided sticky tape.
- Then cut out a small piece of your favorite dog-themed fabric and wrap this around the straw.
- Open up the pen and remove the ink. Insert the straw and replace the ink and endcap.
That’s it! So much fun to make, so easy and each one always looks amazing. You can quickly make a whole set with different colors and patterns of fabric!
Put them into a snazzy pencil holder and you’ve got yourself personalized teacher gifts, neighbor gifts, Dog Mom’s Day/Dog Dad’s Day gifts, holiday stocking stuffers, or pretty party favors.
